Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026

The short version: your photos never leave your computer. The Cull AI Studio desktop app scans, scores, and sorts photos entirely on your machine. This website only handles your account, your subscription, your trained AI model file if you choose to sync it, and — unless you switch it off — anonymous usage counts (numbers like "a cull of 3,000 photos finished", never the photos themselves). We don't sell data, and we collect the minimum needed to run the service.

What we collect

Account data. Your email address and a securely hashed password when you create an account.

Billing data. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — we store only your Stripe customer reference, subscription status, plan, and renewal dates.

Device sign-ins. When you sign the desktop app into your account, we store a token and a device label (your computer's hostname) so you can see and revoke signed-in devices from your dashboard.

Synced model files. If you use model sync, we store versions of your trained AI model and its settings so it can follow you to another computer. These files contain learned numeric parameters — not photos, and not anything a person could view as an image.

Usage counts from the desktop app. So we can see which features get used and where trial users get stuck, the app reports a few plain numbers: that a cull started or finished and how many photos were involved (kept / rejected / for review), how long it took, how many corrections you made when training your AI, plus the app version and whether it's running on Windows or macOS. That's the entire list. These are counts only — they include nothing about the photos themselves, and nothing that could identify a photo, a client, or a wedding. You can switch this off in the app's settings at any time ("Share anonymous usage counts"), and everything else keeps working exactly the same.

Never collected: your photos, previews, thumbnails, file names, file or folder paths, EXIF or camera data, anything derived from image pixels, client names, project names, or the contents of your shoots. The desktop app's culling, face detection, and training all run locally and do not transmit imagery anywhere.

Cookies

We use the session and security cookies Django requires to keep you signed in and to protect forms (CSRF). When our Google Ads conversion tracking is enabled, Google also sets a click cookie on ad visits so we can tell Google Ads that a specific ad led to a trial — no other advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used. When our Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising pixel is enabled, Meta similarly sets cookies on ad visits, and we may send Meta a one-way, irreversibly hashed version of your email address after a trial starts — and once more if you complete your first cull — so it can match those milestones to the ad that led to them. Meta never receives your photos, your usage counts, or anything else about how you use the app.

How we use your data

To authenticate you, operate your subscription, enforce device seats, deliver app downloads and updates, and provide support when you email us. That's the whole list.

Sharing

We share data only with the processors needed to run the service: Stripe (payments), Render (hosting), and GitHub (software release delivery). Each receives only what its function requires. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

Retention & deletion

Account data is kept while your account exists. Email myclaudeprojects@gmail.com to request a copy of your data or full deletion of your account, synced models, and device records — we'll complete it within 30 days. Billing records are retained as required by tax law.

Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are stored hashed. Device tokens are stored hashed and can be revoked by you at any time from the dashboard.

Children

The service is for professional use and not directed at children under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll note it on this page with a new date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
